Student Comments

This is where the Celtic Studies class taught by Rebecca Friedlander is a rejuvenating study. The material is intellectually stimulating, while also maintaining an emotional appeal. More importantly, it highlights a spiritual heritage, from Saint John at Ephesus, through the Desert Fathers & Mothers, to Saint Patrick, that then blossoms into the early Celtic Church.
--Colm (class graduate), USA

My husband and I – both of Celtic heritage (I’m Welsh, he’s Scottish) - took this course together to explore our roots more fully. We were both delighted and inspired. As a retreat leader and a writer of liturgy, it has molded my spirituality and I was moved to tears of humble recognition on more than one occasion – as a worship leader, my husband was uplifted and our faith has been enriched by the experience. I would recommend this journey to anyone.
-- Dr. Lesley Thomson (class graduate)
PhD MTh, Chaplain and Minister

--As an Irish woman living in Glasgow, Scotland, I truly honor and appreciate Rebecca’s incredible work. She’s reminding the Celtic Nations of their powerful ancient history which is encouraging the church to take bold steps of obedience into her destiny.
--Catherine (class graduate)

-- One of the best decisions I made was taking Rebecca Friedlander’s Celtic Course. Learning about the Celtic Saints wasn’t just great history, but it helped mold my prayer life in a new and unexpected way.
-- Marcy (class graduate), USA

This course is a valuable treasure to lay hold of! I can clearly mark a shift in my walk with Christ after the first week of class. The testimonies of the Celtic believer’s encountering Jesus, spark a hunger to know Him more.
-- Megan (class graduate), USA

This course is for those who long to experience the depths of Jesus. It details ancient Christian Spiritual Disciplines
with valuable insights on ways to incorporate them into our modern life as followers of Jesus.

Meet your teacher

Picture
Rebecca Friedlander has a Master's in Celtic Studies from the Evangelical Episcopal University and Theological Seminary, authored 10 books, and produced several films about Celtic Christianity.  Her films Celtic Pilgrimage and Thin Places have aired on international television and released around the world.  Her deep kinship with the Celtic faith started after booking a one-way trip to Ireland, and she's passionate about making the roots and revelation of this era available to the modern church.  The classes include clips from her films and behind the scenes footage from her trips in Ireland.  www.RebeccaFriedlander.com

Rebecca brings into the online class authors and leaders from the Celtic lands who share more of the powerful depth of this early history. Her passion to pull from historical sources and clarify facts from legends make this class a powerful resource.

"You may not have time to explore island and highlands,
sift through myths and legends to discover factual history,
or sit with authors and historians to unpack powerful stories and revival history,
But I have!
I condense years of study into this 10-week course.
Let's take this adventure together!"
-Rebecca

About the EEU:
A primary role of Evangelical Episcopal University and Theological Seminary is to instruct, train and mentor persons who feel called into the ministry of the Church of Jesus Christ.  Throughout history there have been three major expressions of worship and understanding of our life together expressed in the body of Christ; the Sacramental (liturgical), the Evangelical and the Charismatic. It is our belief that God has uniquely work in each of these expressions of the Body of Christ. Therefore we have sought to draw from the best of each of these expressions within the Body of Christ to instruct our students. https://eeuseminary.org
