Sit with You EP
Five original songs (and one bonus track) that will take you on a journey of honesty, worship, and special moments at the cabin.
Sit with You: I wrote this song to celebrate the moments of pause during worship at the cabin... the moments we simply want to linger as the Lord's presence hovers over us. No one wants to move when the King shows up! He is teaching us all how to listen more.
Hide me Away: I wrote this song years ago, and had the idea that it was for someone... I didn't know who. This summer, my mother passed away, and I was filmed the music video of this song in Alaska. During the shoot, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the clouds behind me, and it was captured on film. Later I found out that my mother had passed earlier that day... and I felt like the song was for her. Later, I would read the diary of her last moments. Her final written words were, TYL for all your help today, LORD. Please remember me and heal me. Even as we grieved, we believe that she is wrapped in the arms of Jesus, fully healed and whole. I played the music video at her memorial service: it's for her.
Dance: This is an old song, tracked in my garage apartment over 10 years ago. It felt right to put on this album, so I asked my friends Nigel Cameron and Julie Cameron-Hall from Celtish to add some Celtic whistles and violin to the mix. Remastered, this track is reborn for this season.
Linger: Another song birthed at the cabin in worship with some special touches from Celtish.
Same God: We have "moments" at the cabin... little spontaneous songs that happen during worship. Someone gave a prophetic word, and I started to sing the chorus and bridge of this song, which flowed easily. Later that week, I finished the verses and sent a rough track to a few friends coming to the cabin that weekend for a retreat. We all sang it, and the attendees learned it quickly. By the end of the retreat, we had all learned it! So the bonus LIVE track was recorded during the last retreat session... not many people even knew we were recording. It was a moment of worship at the cabin.
I wanted to close the album with a song of confidence and faith -- no matter what we go through, Jesus is the One who walks with us each step of the way. He's the Same God- all the way home.
