License FAQ
How much time is needed to book an event?
"Thin Places" is released on January 25th, so you can mark your calendar for any date on/after that! We require three weeks notice in advance, so please make sure to book in plenty of time.
What do I need to do?
Just purchase a $35 license and promote the event to your community in the upcoming weeks! You will receive an online information packet with photos, film trailers, and a download file that can be played from any computer.
Do I have to sell DVDs at my event?
It's not necessary, but you sure can! We’ve made it simple for you to have DVDs on hand to sell if you so choose, and it’s a wonderful way for your church/organization to make money off the event to help offset costs, fund missions trips, or other needs your church may have. You'll have the opportunity to order as much or as little product you want when you purchase the license. Unfortunately, we cannot alter your product purchase once the license has been submitted, so make sure you've planned accordingly before signing up!
Can I show the film internationally?
Absolutely! DVDs are not available in every country, but films are available to show.
Can I sell tickets at my event?
Included in the purchasing of the film license is your agreement that tickets may NOT be sold. However, you may take a love offering to cover your costs.
Is the film included with the license?
No, you will need to purchase the film separately.
I own the DVD. Why do we need a License?
It’s the law and it’s the right thing to do. The Federal Copyright Act governs how copyrighted materials such as movies may be utilized publicly. The law applies to everyone including non-profit institutions. Showing a film without a license is essentially stealing. Any organization's public exhibition of a film without proper licensing is subject to steep and significant penalties through The Copyright Act (as much as $150,000 per exhibition). Even inadvertent infringers are subject to the Copyright Act. We've made it easy to show a film through our website, so it's much easier to do it the right way!
