"DESTINY"

by Greg and LaSharon Benton

It's time to believe for the impossible. Ladies, pray for the impossible. Destiny shows up unexpected. Peter went out in the boat as a fisherman, he came back to shore as a fisher of men. David was a shepherd who later became king. Moses said "I can't speak." God gave him Aaron. God chooses people who are not qualified and says "this day, things are going to change." God has plans. God will put people in your area to help you fulfill your destiny. No one walks alone. Jesus didn't even walk alone. He sent His disciples out in two's. Abraham Lincoln after several failures stepped into his destiny as president. If you "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things will be added unto you." And you will step into your destiny.

When God gives you a destiny, you have to believe it. You have a part in making it come to pass. God has His way of doing things. If you can achieve it simply, without His help, it's probably not God. With God, you'll be stretched. You may reach the end of your rope. But then as you are standing on the edge and at the shoreline, God will part your Red Sea. Some drown on their journeys because they simply give up. Anytime God has you on a journey, He'll show you a miracle to encourage you.

God chooses people who are not qualified, but God qualifies you. Mary, the mother of Jesus, had no husband. What man doesn't see, God does. Man looks at the exterior, but God looks on the heart. Prisoners? There may be an apostle sitting in there right now. Murderers? Moses was one. God qualified him and He'll qualify you. Even David's father said "I have a young lad, a shepherd boy." He didn*t use the term "son." In the kingdom, the way up is down. If you want to become a leader, be a servant. If you want to receive, give. If you want life, you have to lose yours.

God is a God of order. He has a sequence of events, a way of doing things. Even Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. He modeled how the Father wanted it done. After the water baptism, the Holy Spirit descended on Him as a dove- and the battle started. Jesus walked through things to reach His destiny. And you'll go through some battles and step on some devils to reach yours, too.

When the seeds of destiny come, you need to protect it. Mary hid it in her spirit. She had to hang on through the pregnancy, the rejection, and held on for 30 years. She had the pleasure of raising the King of Kings. She waited and God redeemed her. God will redeem you, too. In the temple, Jesus stated "I am taking care of my Father's business." After that, Joseph was not mentioned in the Bible again. But Mary was. Mothers play a critical role. Sometimes kids don't want to be pushed into their destiny. Moms have to push them. In John 2:1, the first miracle of turning water into wine was recorded by John. It is the only book that talks about the wine. John recorded 8 miracles, the other gospels almost 3 times that amount.

Anytime a miracle occurs, God will have the stuff to accomplish it. God may tell you to do something that doesn't make sense. Go fish to pay your taxes?! The coin to pay the taxes was found in the fish's mouth. God uses the foolish things to confound the wise. He may call you to be a pastor. Are you willing to serve in the nursery for 2 years to get there? You must know how to serve to reach the destiny God has for you. Sometimes we don't understand why we are required to do certain things to reach our destiny. But just like the Karate Kid who was required to wax cars ("wax on, wax off"), everything He requires us to walk through has a purpose. He's extravagant, but not wasteful. All things work together for good for those who are called by Him.

To see the impossible, believe for the impossible, expect the impossible. When you receive a word from the heart of God, do like Mary. Hide it in your heart. Think about it. Dwell o n it. Dream and see it come to pass. God says "Remember". Listen to it over and over. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Because God has an appointed time and a way of redeeming you, you have to hang in there. Guard it in your heart. Don*t let anyone rain on your parade. And anytime people throw their "trash" your way, just pack it down beneath your feet. It will elevate you and raise you to a higher position. Receive the report of the Lord, reject the evil report. And then one day,"..suddenly".. your suddenly happens. Everything you've been through, every obstacle overcome, suddenly like the day of Pentecost-suddenly a mighty rushing wind comes in and those in the upper room experience something that has never before happened. It's beyond your wildest dream. Everyone sees what you and God have been seeing all along- the evidence of things hoped for, now seen. Your suddenly is coming.

"I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
